Getting ready forAdaptive Storytime at the LINC library.
Greeley's LINC library runs an adaptive storytime with movement, music and stories, then an hour of low sensory play upstairs in the Discovery Hub. On other days, it names a quiet reading room and an atrium by the fireplace.

“Adaptive Storytime and Discovery Hub Hour is a time and space to foster the learning and exploration of neurodivergent children or children who benefit from multisensory experiences.” It “incorporates movement, music, and stories, and concludes with an hour of low sensory time for exploration and play upstairs in the Discovery Hub.”
“For a quieter experience, patrons can enjoy the atrium with an indoor/door fireplace or the quiet reading room.”
Our note The adaptive storytime is on Sunday Nov 22 and Sunday Dec 13. Registration opens two weeks ahead at 11:30 am, so set a reminder for that morning.
Our note The library itself opens at 1 pm on Sundays, so the storytime happens before the doors open to everyone. Call 1-888-861-7323 before your first visit to ask which door to use.
Our note On any other day, the quiet reading room and the atrium by the fireplace are the calm spots the library names.

“Activities presented generally fall within a preschool interest level, but older children are welcome.” Siblings are welcome too.
One registration per family, and registration is required.

The Storytime Room is in the Children's Library, through a hobbit door. The gaming room for older kids and teens is next door to the Children's Library.
The mezzanine has a hands-on children's exhibit that connects to a two-story interactive installation.
The library's LINC page has a virtual tour, a good way to show your kid the building before you go.
What the library doesn't say
not stated what changes during low sensory time (lights, sound, group size)
not stated headphones or sensory kits at LINC
not stated where to park
not stated a price
not stated dates after Dec 13
not stated where the quiet reading room is in the building
Register ahead, one registration per family. Storytime has stories, songs and moving around, at about a preschool level, and older kids and siblings are welcome. Then everyone goes upstairs to the Discovery Hub for an hour of low sensory play and exploring. The library opens to everyone at 1 pm, right as the hour ends, so it may get busier on the way out. Change anything.
Common questions
What if my child won't look at the schedule or story?
That is common at first. Leave it where the moment happens, point to one picture at a time, and keep it low-pressure. Many kids warm up to it after a few calm tries, in their own time.
Can I make this in Spanish?
