Riding the bus by myself.

A big step toward independence. Practicing the exact steps, and what to do if something changes, makes it safe and doable.

More ways to practice the trip

What to expect

Riding alone is a milestone that grows real independence. The safest way in is to practice the whole route together several times, then follow a step behind, then wait at the end. A card with the route, the stop name, and a trusted phone number lives in the pocket. You know your kid.

One tip from a dad who's been there

Ride the route together three times before the solo trip. Take a photo of the correct stop and its sign, so it is a picture to match, not a word to remember. Program one trusted number as the first contact in the phone.

Common questions

What if my child won't look at the schedule or story?

That is common at first. Leave it where the moment happens, point to one picture at a time, and keep it low-pressure. Many kids warm up to it after a few calm tries, in their own time.

Can I make this in Spanish?

Yes. Every tool and this page exist in Spanish, and the printed page comes out in the language you choose. Use the language switch at the top.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no signup and nothing you type is stored. Make it, print it, done.
