Getting ready forSensitive Santa at Surprise Stadium.
The Autism Society of Greater Phoenix's Sensitive Santa on Saturday, December 12: outdoor games, crafts and snacks while you wait, then a private, one-on-one visit with Santa indoors, without the long lines, bright lights and loud noises. $5 per family to register.
“Sensitive Santa is designed especially for individuals with Autism and other sensory challenges, providing a welcoming and supportive holiday experience without the long lines, bright lights, and loud noises that can make traditional Santa visits overwhelming.”
“Event activities will take place outdoors, while visits with Santa will be held indoors in a sensory-friendly environment.”
“Each individual and family taking their picture with Santa receives one on one time with the holiday icon in a private area that is modestly decorated.”
It's for kids and adults with a disability and their families. The $5 covers one family of up to 6.
Walk-ins can enjoy the activities, but a visit with Santa isn't guaranteed without registering ahead.
Time blocks are 9 to 10, 10 to 11, 11 to 12, 1 to 2 and 2 to 3. The 10 and 11 o'clock blocks have an ASL interpreter.
