A small Denver music venue with free headphones at the Front Desk and sensory friendly concerts where the lights go up, the sound goes down, and sitting still is optional. Here is the quiet way through it, in Swallow Hill's own words.
Swallow Hill Music
71 E Yale Ave, Denver 80210 · Front Desk: Monday to Thursday noon to 9 pm and during live events; Friday to Sunday during live events only. Café, Thursday to Sunday during concerts and events: 4 to 9 pm.
“We offer sensory friendly concerts where we turn the lights up and turn down the sound down so individuals and their families can move around, dance, and sing along in a fun, judgment free environment. There is no ‘shushing’ allowed and sitting still is optional.”
“Sound muffling headphones and/or earplugs are available at no charge. Please see our Front Desk staff to reserve upon arrival.”
Our note The next sensory friendly concert is Sat Dec 5 at 11 am. It is the only one on the concert calendar through mid December; the calendar loads a page at a time and we opened every page on Oct 21.
Our note Swallow Hill names no quieter time for regular concerts. A 2024 Swallow Hill article described a side room for breaks and wider rows at sensory friendly shows; the current pages don't say, so ask the Front Desk.
Free sound muffling headphones or earplugs: ask the Front Desk when you arrive.
At sensory friendly concerts the lights go up and the sound goes down. Moving, dancing and singing along are welcome, and sitting still is optional.
You can drop off in front of the building, then park. The lot is across Yale Avenue at Lincoln and Yale, a busy intersection.

What Swallow Hill doesn't say
not stated a quiet or break room, on its current pages
not stated how long the sensory friendly show runs
You can drop off in front, then park in the lot across Yale Avenue; it is a busy corner. Ask the Front Desk for free headphones or earplugs. At a sensory friendly concert the lights stay up, the sound is lower, and moving, dancing and singing along are welcome. The next one is Sat Dec 5 at 11 am, doors at 10. Change anything.
One tip before you go
Pick up the headphones before you find your seat, even if your kid doesn't want them yet. Sitting still is optional at the sensory friendly shows, so let them move. Leaving early still counts as a music day.
Common questions
What if my child won't look at the schedule or story?
That is common at first. Leave it where the moment happens, point to one picture at a time, and keep it low-pressure. Many kids warm up to it after a few calm tries, in their own time.
