The Sunflower lanyard, in the airport's words

“Travelers may ask for a lanyard at the Airport’s Information Booth and determine for themselves when to wear them.”

“There is no qualifying list of hidden disabilities.” “There are no prerequisites for asking for or wearing an item.”

“Travelers should be aware that the Sunflower lanyard program does not authorize special privileges to the wearer. The program is only intended to signal to others that additional assistance or patience may be required.”

  • The airport says it has given information about the program to its employees, including airline, restaurant, retailer and TSA staff.
  • The Information Booth is on the first floor near baggage claim, and the security checkpoint is on the upper level, so build in time for the stop.
