Sensory help, in the theater's words

“Unless noted otherwise in the production’s Content Information section, during each sensory-friendly performance, house lights are higher and the sound is adjusted to accommodate sensory needs.”

“DCT creates a parent tipsheet, a social story, and a synopsis for each of our sensory performances”

“Seating for the sensory-friendly performance is general admission.”

  • Other adjustments are also made as needed and “as advisors who regularly work with children with special needs recommend.”
  • The parent tipsheet, social story and synopsis go on each show's own page, to download ahead of time.
  • Some stories, especially fairy tales, may have villains or conflicts that upset kids. DCT gives general age recommendations for each title and leaves the call to you.
