A rainforest and aquarium in Dallas with a two-page Sensory Guide in English and Spanish, a rest area off to the side for breaks, and communication boards you can borrow at Admissions or download.
“If you start to feel this way, consider visiting our rest area. It is off to the side and a great place to take a break and relax.”
“There are areas that can get a little congested and loud, so it may be helpful to have noise-cancelling headphones and/or fidget devices available”
The guide suggests bringing whatever helps your kid feel comfortable in public places, like noise-cancelling headphones or fidget devices.
Laminated communication boards and smaller communication cards are at the Admissions desk (return them to a staff member before you leave), and you can download them in English or Spanish from the accessibility page.
Staff members wear uniforms and are happy to answer questions. The Field Guide map shows the rest area and phone charging station at The River on Level 1, and a nursing station on Level 2.
