More ways to prepare for the playground

What to expect

Playgrounds are great and also full of social stuff: waiting for the swing, sharing, other kids' noise. Naming that turns happen, and that leaving will get a warning, heads off the two hardest moments.

One tip from a dad who's been there

Give the leaving warning early and pair it with what's next, so going home is a step, not a surprise. A first-then (first park, then snack) makes the exit easier.

Common questions

What if leaving the playground is always a fight?

Give the warning at the slide, not at the car. 'Two more turns, then home for a snack' names both the end and what comes after. The after is what makes the ending survivable.
