Sensory help, in the zoo's words

“Franklin Park Zoo is proud to be Sensory Inclusive Certified through our partnership with KultureCity.”

“Sensory bags containing fidget tools, verbal cue cards, noise canceling headphones and other resources are available for checkout (at no cost by leaving an ID) at our admissions booths.”

  • The zoo names no quiet room, and re-entry isn't allowed, so plan your breaks inside: the bag's headphones and cue cards, and a stop at a communication board.
  • There's no nurse or medical facility on grounds. Staff give basic first aid supplies when an adult asks, and can call EMTs. Bandaids and first aid kits are at the admissions booths.
  • The zoo may close or change its hours for special events, announced ahead.
