Sensory help, in the museum's words

“Noise reducing headphones are always available while at the Museum.”

“There is a low sensory viewing area in the Theater of Electricity, located to the left of the main entrance.”

“Quieter places to take a sensory break are located throughout the Museum.”

  • You don't need to go to a Theater of Electricity show to borrow headphones.
  • The Planetarium often runs lower sensory versions of shows called Soft Light, Soft Sound, including Big Bird's Adventure: One World One Sky on the first Sunday of each month at 10:30 am.
  • Access Off Hours runs about every other month with a capped crowd. The November 7 session is a Masked Access Hours; call Science Central with any mask questions.
  • The family and accessible bathrooms in the Blue Wing, Levels 1 and 2, don't have hand dryers. The Blue Wing elevators are under construction; the Green Wing elevator reaches all floors.
